Term 3 - Photoshop
Software Package
This term in ICT we covered Photoshop. An image editing program created by Adobe. Adobe Photoshop is the most popular image editing program around the world, especially for professionals.The good thing about Photoshop is, no matter what you do in life, you will be able to find a use for it. Be that you are a professional photographer, or even just using it to add some effects to your family photos. Another Upside to Photoshop is that it is incredibly powerful, It isn't the professionals choice for nothing. But usually, with power, comes complication. This is true in Photoshop too. Adobe Photoshop is up to it's 5th "Creative Suite" Version, with no hint of losing steam yet. Because Photoshop has such an extensive array of tools, for example, Layers, it took us nearly half of the term to pick up all of the skills.
Assessment Tasks
This term we had two assessment tasks, a folio, and an assignment. Our folio consisted of the work we did in class throughout the term whilst learning Photoshop, whereas the assignment was designed for us to show off everything we had learned at the end of the term.
I decided to do my assignment on the Mazda Furai. The Furai is a concept car that was designed by Mazda in 2010. It is probably my favorite car, and has the meanest look. Here are a the finished products of my poster and flyer. (Click to enlarge)
Personal Review
This term was probably my second favorite out of this year, behind Game Maker. Photoshop is a very useful skill to have, no matter what you do with your life. Therefore i'm glad to have spent a term learning to use it. I think i will use the skills i have learned a fair bit in the future. Because of these reasons, I would rate the term a solid 7/10 Overall.

If you cannot afford the hefty price of Photoshop, I suggest you check out Paint.net. A free, yet powerful alternative to Photoshop. Sadly it only works on windows operating systems. If you have a computer running an OS other than windows, i suggest GIMP.
